Digital Numismatics at the DARIAH Annual Event 2025
14 colleagues from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany and Switzerland met for a Digital Numismatics Working Group meeting at the DARIAH Annual Event on June 17th in Göttingen, Germany.

The primary focus was an informal exchange between digital projects in the German-speaking countries to discuss new developments and possibilities for cooperation. Among the projects presented were Tübingen Universty’s CoinFindsViewer, the new database for Austrian coin finds being developed by the Östereichisches Archäologisches Institut of the Östereichische Akademie der Wissenschaften, and NomismaSampo, a linked open data portal for coin finds that is under development based on the Nomisma.org vocabulary and ontology.
We were also joined by colleagues from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski who presented recent work by the Ancient Coins Counterfeits Scientific Network which is currently funded as “Mistakes as a source of knowledge: ACCSN 2.0” by the DARIAH Theme Call 2024-2026: Mistakes.
Thanks to the organisers of the Annual Event for making the meeting possible!
